What is a ‘rough opening’ (R.O.)?
The rough opening is the measurements describes the width (inside the door frame from beam to beam) and the height (from the header down to the concrete). For new construction it will be the dimensions of the entryway.

What is a jamb?

A jamb is the side and headlining that surrounds the door. The width is determined by the wood used to frame the doorway. Most doors are framed with either 2"x4" or 2"x6" pieces of lumber.

What does the term ‘prehung’ mean?

It means the door frame and the jam have been pre-installed at the factory and disassembled for packaging. No welding or adjustments are required. This is to aid the customer in an easier installation process and is more cost effective and feasible for the consumer.

Can I use pull handles only on my door?

Yes, single bore with roller catch preparation is available for consumers who would be using pull handles only, i.e. locking systems with deadbolt only (No latch at all).

What does standard hardware preparation mean?
Standard hardware preparation is a double bore of 2-1/8" diameter each, 2-3/8" backset, and 5-1/2" center to center. Any other preparation that doesn't follow these specs, would need a template or need to be specified before production.

What is An E-Book?

Baltic Iron Doors™ provides an E-Book entitled “Recognizing Quality Wrought Iron”. This service is provided free of charge to all of our consumers because we believe that a customer will feel more comfortable making an educated purchase.

May I visit your show room?
You’re welcome to visit our show room to see these amazing doors for yourself and have our staff answer all your questions. We are located in 2618 Orange Avenue in the city of Santa Ana, CA 92707. Our operating hours are 9 to 5 pm. Monday to Friday. Please call ahead for an appointment.

I do not see a size option for the wine cellar doors. Can you explain?
Wine cellar doors are considered a custom order since there is no standard size in the industry and it varies from one client to another. We offer a free consultation for sizes and pricing on wine cellar doors to those in the Southern California area.

Do iron doors age with time?
Iron doors do age with time and the quality of the door is dependent on the quality of material used and the maintenance and care provided by the owner of the door. Baltic Iron Doors™ uses top quality lasting materials and will is glad to provide tips on how to preserve your door over time. Do you have a warranty policy?
Baltic Iron Doors™
warrants its product to be free from defect in material and workmanship for a period of ten (10) years from the date of sale to the user and will repair or replace any defective product or parts at Baltic Iron Door’s™ sole discretion excluding user damage and outside of regular standard use. This warranty excludes installation, glass, weather stripping, finish weathering and threshold. Baltic Iron Door™ paint finishes will naturally age relative to exposure to nature’s elements and is therefore not covered by any warranty either implied or express. In time the finish may rub off in places due to the frequency of use. For purposes of warranty, this is not considered a defect but rather a natural process which is difficult to avoid, and over time enhances the naturally aging appearance and beauty of the metal. Baltic Iron Doors™ components are hand crafted. Some custom designs may require that a slight modification be made to preserve the strength or functionality of the door. Therefore, Baltic Iron Doors™ reserves the right to make minor design adjustments to retain the strength and functionality for each individual design.
